Information we collect
- Account and identity: Google sign-in identifier, email address, display name, profile photo, phone number, date of birth or age-verification information, and invite or approval status.
- Location: device location when you grant permission, your selected location and nearby-area information, and business address or coordinates when you provide them. Location supports local discovery, posts, businesses, and relevant notifications.
- Content and activity: posts, photos, videos, comments, replies, ratings, reviews, business profile information, categories or tags, follows, likes, bookmarks, reports, and related interactions.
- Device and service information: notification tokens and preferences, app and device identifiers needed for authentication or security, diagnostic and crash information, and usage events where enabled.
- Support and safety: information you send when requesting support, reporting content, or asking for account or data deletion.
How we use information
We use this information to create and protect accounts, verify adult eligibility and invite access, show nearby people and content, publish the content you choose to share, provide business features and notifications, handle reports, prevent abuse, troubleshoot failures, and improve the service.
Who can see or process information
Other Fownz users can see content and profile or business details that the app presents as public. Your private account details are not presented as public profile fields. Google sign-in and Google Firebase services process information to provide authentication, storage, messaging, hosting, security, and diagnostics. Other infrastructure providers may process content to store or deliver media. We may disclose information when required by law or to address safety and abuse.
Fownz may display promoted business posts. We use your location, selected category or tag, and businesses you follow to choose nearby promoted posts; post views help limit repeats and measure performance. Business names, addresses, photos, videos, and other content supplied for a promoted post may appear in that post. If advertising technology or its data use changes, this policy and the Google Play Data safety declaration will be updated before the change is released.
Your choices
You can manage device location, camera, and notification permissions in your device settings. You can edit profile information and delete supported content in the app. You can delete your account from Settings, or follow the instructions on our account and data deletion page.
Retention and deletion
When you delete your account in the app, access is disabled and a deletion process starts. The primary account and associated records are scheduled for permanent purge after 30 days. This includes profile and private registration records, owned posts and media, comments, reviews, business records and media, relationships, and notification settings. We may retain limited information longer where required by law, for safety investigations, or in provider backups according to their retention schedules. Aggregated information that no longer identifies you may remain.
Security and international processing
We use encrypted connections for data transmitted by the app and access controls for stored information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Fownz uses Google cloud services, so information may be processed outside your country.
Adults only
Fownz is intended for people aged 18 or older. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us so we can review and remove it as appropriate. See our Child Safety Standards.
